Intentions and a Daily Spiritual Practice

One important aspects of Self-Love and Self-Empowerment is to set intentions for your daily spiritual practice. I know, I know...it is something that we spiritual beings strive to do every day but we don't necessarily follow through consistently.  So what happens when you don't follow through? If I take a week off, for example, this is what happens to me.  I start to develop a lack of self-esteem, lack of confidence, I am not grounded within myself and the world, I have a sporadic urge to negative self-talk, self-sabotage, let my mind wander into a fantasy of despair and denial, into a downward spiral of depression and sadness, instant reactions to other people's comments, becoming offended to any kind of constructive criticism, rejecting people and world, becoming extremely introverted to the point of not wanting to communicate or co-create...not fun stuff.
Then I remember that I want to feel good again. I desire for my energy channels to open up for great manifestation and connection to Spirit in order for me to follow my true path for the highest good of all. I want to be committed to myself so I may be able to fill my cup up and to overflow with Love so I may be of service to the world.  The great Kundalini master Yogi Bhajan said "Vibrate with the Cosmos, the Cosmos shall clear the path."

One of the ways I vibrate with the Cosmos is by setting intentions during my daily spiritual practice.  Intentions are the seeds that you plant in your life so you may gain clarity within yourself in order to achieve your goals and desires for true manifestation. When you become more clear with your life and you know what you want, your energy channels open up.  When they open up, you are able to hear the guidance of Spirit.  You are basically telling the Universe "Hey there! I would love this kind of energy towards me. Thank you! I am grateful." And so the Cosmos start to clear the path for you.

The best time to do this is in the morning because you start the day fresh with these intentions in your mind. It is also important to NOT LOOK AT YOUR PHONE OR COMPUTER first thing in the morning.  When I do so, I become distracted and my mind wanders. Ignore your notifications, your Likes, your emails because YOU should be the most important thing to focus on when you awake upon this glorious life of yours.  Drink your glass of warm water with a splash lemon or apple cider vinegar and sit down on your meditation pillow.  Start to breathe.

Simply breathe for 5 minutes.  Listen to your beautiful breath.  Simply be grateful for the life you have on this wonderful Earth. Thank the Universe, Spirit, your Angels and Guides, the Elementals, the Crystal Kingdom for guiding you daily. Ground yourself.

Then read your intentions to yourself.

Here are some examples of intentions that I've had throughout my spiritual practice:

"I am at peace with myself and am safe in this world."
"I take creative action steps everyday towards my goals."
"I am successful with my business and financially stable so all my needs are met."
"I hear my Angels and Guides' messages clearly so I may be able walk my path for the highest good of all."
"I am very much in touch with my body and am able to listen to what messages it brings me."
"I am fully aware and present."
"I am fully dedicated and committed to myself."

"I have a daily spiritual practice which grounds and fully supports me for my highest good."
"I recognize when pain-body shows up."
"I consciously ingest food that fully supports my body."

Write your intentions down on your special sheet of paper.  I usually like 3x5 notecards or if I want to get elaborate, I use fancy paper with different kinds of markers.  Whatever resonates with you is fine.  The point is to write it down and to read it to yourself daily. Place your intentions on your alter so you may see it every day.

If you'd like to focus on a specific intention for a particular day, make it your mantra (something that you repeat frequently).  Today, I am having allergy issues so I will repeat this to myself. "I consciously ingest food that keeps my nasal passages open so my energy channels may be clear."

Remember that this is a practice. With commitment, dedication and patience you will see a drastic improvement in your life. Don't be hard on yourself if you skip a few days, or even a few weeks.  Just notice it and come back to yourself. Come back onto your meditation pillow. Give yourself a hug, say "I love you" and start again. Remember, it is your journey that is your destination.

Much Love and Light to you.
