Hello beautiful beings. Grounding. I need it. You need it. We all need it. I've come across so many people as of late discussing the need to ground themselves. Since I am highly aware that everyone I meet is a direct reflection of myself, it is a true sign that I would benefit from making a lot of my focus to ground myself to the fullest. Therefore, this blog will be on the Root Chakra and grounding meditation techniques. The Root Chakra (1st Chakra) Color: Red Location: At the base of your spine Associated with: blood circulation, adrenals, kidneys, bladder, colon, spleen, spinal column, excretory system, digestive system, blood distribution or circulation, spine, bladder, blood, kidneys, legs, feet, the tailbone, spine, the male reproductive organs, the vagina and the perineum. Pertains to: the physical, survival, instinctual, self-preservation, primal, grounded, spontaneous, active, courageous, sensory, birth and death When your Root Chakra is balanced you feel stable and secure in this world and within yourself. One is more alive, trusting, poised and able to move through life gracefully. When your Root Chakra is out of balance it can either be underactive or overactive. When overactive, one can be bossy, domineering, have a big ego, greedy, angry or violent. An underactive Root Chakra can make one feel unloved, fearful, unsure, inadequate, shy or frustrated. When Do I Ground Myself? I ground myself first thing in the morning before I meditate. Before anything, really. I know myself to be at times a little spacey, unfocused within the physical world around me because I'm high up in the clouds...almost outer space. When I am not grounded, it is more difficult to pay attention to what is going on in the Earth plane. Also when unbalanced I tend to react angrily instead of thinking before I speak. I also have tendencies to become bossy, controlling, unbalanced and my ego expands allowing my fear to enter. And when fear enters, I live in hell. That is why I do a grounding meditation first thing in the morning. When I am grounded, I feel deeply connected to the Earth and Heaven. It helps me to be aware, present, more confident and in awe of my own body and physical strength. We are, after all, Light. Grounding Meditation Technique Please take your shoes off. Sit on a chair with your feet on the floor or sit in lotus on the the floor. Hands can be on your legs palm facing up or down. Close your eyes and start to deeply inhale/exhale. "Thank you, God, Archangels, Ascended Masters, Spirit Guides for your presence. My intention today is to ground myself fully and deeply so I am able to live this day with Love for myself and others." Visualize that you are in a majestic forest sitting next to your favorite tree. Imagine streams of bright sunlight shining between the trees down to your presence. Breathe it in as you allow the sunlight to energize you. Become one with the tree. Open your senses and imagine how the temperature would feel, how it would smell, what it would sound like. Stay here for a few breaths. On your next inhalation, gently squeeze your Mulabandh (Root Lock - sex organs, rectum and navel) and imagine roots growing down from the base of your spine into the Earth, layer by layer until it reaches the core. Allow yourself to connect with the heart of the Earth. Feel the power and support Gaia is giving you. Stay here for a few breaths until you feel grounded, supported and energized within yourself and in this Earth. Inhale and exhale. Once you are finished with the meditation, put your hands together into prayer, thumbs into the sternum. "Thank you, God, for your never-ending Light and Love. Thank you for keeping me grounded within myself and on this Earth. I love you." Of course, there is no time limit. Little as 5 minutes can help. Beneficial Crystals & Stones for the Root Chakra I love getting healings from crystals and stones. Having crystals on you is a perfect way to enhance the way you are grounded. Do not underestimate the power of crystals. Carrying pocket crystals throughout the day can tremendously help and be extremely effective when using it intentionally. I usually carry around Black Tourmaline (I also have it on as a necklace that hits my heart chakra to deeply ground and protect). Another favorite of mine to carry is Tigers Eye and magnetic Hematite. Here are some few grounding stones: Garnet, Black Tourmaline, Magnetic Hematite, Tigers Eye, Ruby, Red Jasper, Black Obsidian, Jet, Moqui Marbles, Smoky Quartz, Amber A Quick Meditation with a Grounding Crystal Stand up with both feet on the ground. Breathe in and out. Visualize a Black Tourmaline (or any Root Chakra crystal of your choice) at the base of your spine rooting down into the Earth's core. Visualize the roots from the bottom of your feet going down layer by layer into the Earth's heart. Next, visualize a strong beam of vibrant reddish-golden light shooting from the Earth's core back into your body. Feel the power, the magnitude and the support that Gaia is giving back to you. **This can be done anywhere. I like to do it at standing in line anywhere or in traffic. Other Ways To Ground
What works for me is a combination of all things but it has taken me a while to find the right balance. The most crucial exercise is the daily grounding meditation and making a connection with my Soul. By meditating and listening to your breathe, one can be of service to oneself and the World in a balanced, centered, calm, peaceful way. When you are grounded with a healthy Root chakra, all your other chakras automatically become healthier. Don't forget, we have the ultimate power to heal ourselves. Our mind is very powerful and we must use it for good to elevate humanity to the next level. Meditation is the way. It is in your silence that you find never-ending Love.
